25.12.2025 I Living Today for the World to Come

Today, we celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ but The Jesus we adore today and who is in Heaven right now will be coming once again.

■ One day, Jesus Christ will return and gather His people into a New Earth which will replace the current one.

■ Millions of people live on this soon to be replaced earth, and many still do not know about this coming event.

■ When they learn what is coming, they will desire to live with the New Jerusalem in mind, since this present world will pass away at Christ’s return.

■ As they prepare for this hope, believers are called to do the following:

- Confess and believe the truths summarized in the Three Ecumenical Creeds.

- Honor God by keeping His commandments

- Turn away from the sins that lead the heart away from God

- Participate faithfully in the life of the Church and its Sacraments

■ They must ask in prayer the Holy Spirit to give them the strength to live in this way.

■ And since they are human, and because there is a struggle between flesh and spirit, salvation comes through sincere faith in Christ. These practices are expressions of gratitude toward God, not the basis of salvation.
